Rob Kapteyn   Rob Kapteyn is our chair of the Elder's board and attends West Highland with his wife Lynda and three children. 
Don Crowder   Rev. Don Crowder is our former Director of Administration who served for 7 years until June 30, 2017.  Don, married to Cherlyn has a long rewarding career and is now with BCM International bcmintl.ca.
Dan Hitz   Executive Director of Reconciliation Ministries of Michigan. He is an ordained minister with the Fellowship of Christian Assembles, a licensed professional Counselor and a clinically certified sex-offender treatment specialist. He and his wife, Marianne, have been married since 1986 and have five children, one of whom is now with Christ.
Andrew Smith   Andrew, his wife Nadine are members of West Highland and attend with their two children.  Andrew is an Elder and is our Vice Chair.
Jakob Koch   Jakob Koch is our candidate for our Director of Family Ministries here at West Highland.  During his 30 years of pastoral ministry and mission work, Jakob speaks of a common thread throughout his life – a natural affinity for mentoring, discipling and mobilizing youth and young adults towards active ministry involvement, and that within the larger context of family.  The heart of the Kochs’ call to serve is a deep love for people and a great joy in helping them find their passion and joy in living and serving in step with the Lord. After prayer and several discussions, the Ministry Team and Elders believe Jakob has the gifts, leadership qualities, and experience to lead the staff and volunteers of a growing Family Ministries focus at West Highland.
Bechara Karkafi   Bechara Karkafi, is spearheading the project of church-planting initiatives in southern Ontario among Arab-speaking immigrants to Canada.

Dr. Barry Howson   Dr. Barry Howson is the Vice President of Academics and Student Services, and the Academic Dean of Heritage College and Seminary.  He has been a professor at Heritage since 2001, primarily teaching in the areas of theology, NT Bible, worldviews/apologetics, and Church history.  He is also a teaching pastor at Heritage Fellowship Baptist Church in Ancaster.
Bob Flemming   After 28 fruitful years leading Springvale Baptist Church, Stouffville, Bob became the Regional Director of FEB Central serving the 275 Fellowship Baptist Churches of Ontario and English-speaking Quebec. In addition to helping pastors and strengthening churches, he gives oversight and encouragement to the 53 church plants underway in our region.
Paul Martin Paul Martin   This loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan is the founder and Lead Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, Toronto. He is a zealous gospel preacher whose love for the disabled community has given him opportunities to speak for the Elisha Foundation. A leader among Toronto pastors he also serves with The Gospel Coalition Canada.
Paul Carter Paul Carter   Paul is a self described “Bible Geek” and Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church, Orillia. In addition to leading FBC’s team of pastors, Paul leads the Covenant Life Renewal Association among Canadian Baptists. He is a regular blogger, outstanding communicator and leader in The Gospel Coalition Canada.
Brian Stiller Brian Stiller   This former President of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada began his ministry in the 1960s with Youth for Christ, Toronto. He is the founder of Faith Today, Canada’s national evangelical magazine. The author of numerous books Brian became the Global Ambassador of the World Evangelical Alliance after leading Tyndale College and Seminary to become Canada’s largest evangelical school.
Gary Lidstone Gary Lidstone   After planting churches in Nova Scotia and Alberta, Gary pastored in Ontario before he and Kim became involved in FEB International providing member care to missionaries around the world. He was our last interim pastor in 2007.
Gracia Burnham Gracia Burnham   Gracia Burnham is the author of the New York Times bestselling book In the Presence of My Enemies, author of the book To Fly Again, and founder of the Martin and Gracia Burnham Foundation.  Gracia Burnham knows what it is like to have life spin out of control.  While serving as missionaries in the Philippines with New Tribes Mission, Gracia and her husband Martin were kidnapped by terrorists and spent the next 13 months as hostages in the Philippine jungle.  On June 7, 2002, captivity ended for the two in a violent rescue that left Martin Burnham dead and Gracia wounded.  Their story of faith in the midst of terror and tragedy is known to millions.
Ed Brink Ed Brink   Ed, his wife Janice are members of West Highland and attend with their two children.  Ed is a former Elder and is our treasurer.
David Stairs David Stairs   David, his wife Katrina are members of West Highland and attend with their three children.  David became an Elder in 2016.
Paul Gerics Paul Gerics   Paul, his wife Leah and children are members of West Highland.  Paul is an Elder and has been past chair of the Elders Board.
Calvin Smith Calvin Smith   Calvin is a passionate and dynamic speaker that has a keen evangelistic edge to his presentations. Calvin has spoken on creation topics since 2001 at youth groups, Christian schools, churches and small groups. He has also appeared on the CTS live call-in TV program 'Nite Lite Live' several times, speaking about the creation/evolution issue. He is co-host of CMI's TV show Creation Magazine LIVE!

Eugene Bakhmutsky Eugene Bakhmutsky   Pastor Eugene Bakhmutsky of the Russian Bible Church, Moscow is giving leadership to a church-planting movement that is committed to starting 10 new churches in 10 strategic cities across Russia over the next 10 years. In December, through our special Christmas Gifts for Christ offering, we contributed over $26,000 to the Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) of Canada to help finance this bold initiative.
John Neufeld John Neufeld   Since January 2015, Dr. Neufeld joined the ministry as Back to the Bible Canada’s very first Canadian Bible teacher. Having been in pastoral ministry since 1976, he has served as both church planter and senior pastor. Known both nationally and internationally for his excellence in verse-by-verse, expository Bible teaching, Dr. Neufeld is passionate about bringing the truth of God’s Word to life in Canada and beyond.

Frank Drown

FrankDrown, our special guest speaker on our Mission Focus Day. Frank, a former missionary to the Jivaro Indians of eastern Ecuador, is the author of "Mission to the Headhunters: How God's Forgiveness Transformed Tribal Enemies". In 1955 he led the search party that discovered the bodies Jim Elliot and his associates who had been murdered by the Auca Indians. Drown was interviewed for the 2004 documentary Beyond the Gates of Splendor where he described in detail what happened during the search party's expedition. Read more about Frank Drown.

Michael has written numerous articles on Christian stewardship issues and has authored a book "Dreaming Big" - a Christian's guide to estate and gift planning. He has the privilege of representing numerous ministries in the areas of estate and gift planning. He is currently the Chair of the Board for Muskoka Baptist Centre and Heritage Seminary & College. His wife Shelly and three adult children provide support for Michael in his challenging responsibilities. Michael loves to read and golf and more currently, is loving being a grandfather!

Terry is the past president of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada (1992-2005). Currently he is the Associate Director of Church Multiplication with FEB French Mission and FEB International.

Daryl McCarthy

Dr. Daryl McCarthy has served as CEO and President for the International Institute for Christian Studies (IICS) since 1988 when he helped found the organization. In the mid-1990's he assisted in the founding of Christian Studies International of Canada and has served on its board since then. CSI and IICS work together in placing Christian academicians, businesspersons and professionals in teaching positions at public universities overseas. Daryl has traveled to fifty nations around the world. He has earned graduate degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, Nazarene Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In 2010 he and his wife Teri lived in Lithuania as she was teaching at LCC International University. They have a son and a daughter, both of whom are married and three grandchildren.

Allan has extensive pastoral experience in four different Baptist churches in the Maritimes. He and his wife Bonnie have 5 grown children. New Church planted in Thorold, Ontario. As a church we are excited and encouraged to be the sending church for Pastor Allan, Bonnie and his family as they leave us at the end of March to begin a church plant in Thorold.
