“Everyone was filled with awe” (Acts 2:43). This was the experience of the new believers converted on the day of Pentecost who then “devoted themselves...to the fellowship.” Their loving devotion to one another was one of several components that created the context in which God was so powerfully at work among them that they stood in awe of his glory and his works. I have had this “filled with awe” experience a number of times in my 44-year pilgrimage with Jesus. Last Sunday night (January 3rd) was one of those times. This was like the cream on top of the wonder of Sunday morning—a special extra blessing to my own soul. The Fellowship Hall was full and the testimonies were amazing. I was “filled with awe” to hear so many testify of God’s work in their lives and in our church and these many joyful offerings of prayers set the tone for Seek Week. It was also a great way to begin a new year. I will share with you my Top Ten Prayer Concerns for 2016. These are the things I desire God to do among us, through us, and in us. These are my aspirations for West Highland. I ask you to join me in seeking God for these things and may the one who knows and answers prayer still move among us throughout the year, that everyone will be “filled with awe”.
