Living the Gospel in an Antagonistic Age

Living the Gospel in an Antagonistic Age, a preaching series from the Book of Daniel. The story of Daniel and his three teenage friends has a powerful message for us today. Taken against their will to live in Babylon 2600 years ago, they maintained a high-profile public witness surrounded by people antagonistic to their beliefs. Today the strong currents of pluralism, secularism and relativism, reinforced by a paralyzing political correctness and a sexually amoral activism are purging Christian belief, lifestyle and distinctiveness from our society. The story of Daniel and his friends is a clarion call for us not to be a Daniel but to trust in Daniel’s God. It is a call to be courageous; not to lose our nerve and melt away into the new emerging mold of the world. Their story will also tell us that this objective will not be achieved without great cost. Our Lead Pastor, John Mahaffey, invites us to join him in this God-centred, Christ-focused and Gospel-infused preaching series to discover what enabled Daniel and his friends to stand against the flow of pagan defilement and be a blessing to people antagonistic to their faith.
