George Whitefield and the Great Awakening
Evangelicalism in early 18th-century Britain was at its lowest spiritual state since the recovery of the Gospel at the time of the 16th-century Reformation. Its recovery came through revival, in which the preaching of one man was especially prominent, George Whitefield. In these two sessions, we look at this revival of Evangelicalism through the ministry of this great evangelist and consider what it has to teach us in our day, a day also of great challenges for Western Evangelicalism.
